Protection from UV Rays is essential. We all take care to put sun block on our face and body, but sometimes fail to give the correct protection to our eyes. UV is an invisible form of radiation and the damage to eyes can build up over time.
There are 3 types of UV radiation:
UVA low energy and the most penetrative to the eye. Exposure to UVA can cause cataract and macular degeneration.
UVB higher energy. This is the same UV that causes sunburn and over exposure to the eye can cause pingueculae, pterygia and snowblindness.
UVC this layer is the strongest form of UV. Fortunately, the ozone layer blocks almost all UVC.
